Cause Description:
PS 59 Mission At PS 59 we all work together to provide a secure and supportive learning environment that is child centered and developmentally appropriate. Everyone in our school community, including students and their families, staff members, and neighborhood members, is encouraged to be an active participant and contributor to their learning process. Our staff members take pride in knowing that they are the very models of continual learning through their own participation in professional study groups. We encourage our students to become lifelong learners who will be able to adjust to a world of rapid technological changes and increased cultural diversity through a thoughtful, meaningful program which is planned to inspire and empower all students to work towards meeting high standards. Students acquire the strategies which enable them to be critical thinkers and problem solvers in all curriculum areas as they take risks within the safety of our supportive student learning environment. We support student learning across the curriculum with abundant materials and resources.
