Cause Description:
The Dog Safehouse is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, volunteer based dog rescue organization serving the Phoenix and Southern Arizona areas. We are dedicated to saving homeless dogs of all sizes and breeds from animal control shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation, dogs surrendered by their owners due to difficult circumstances, and dogs in danger of abuse and neglect. Our mission is to place rescued dogs in loving and forever homes upon completing our thorough adoption process to ensure the best fit for the dog and the forever family. Our group likes to remain in touch with the adopting families after the adoption process to see how the dog is adapting to his/her new home, family and environment. We are committed to providing the best possible care to our dogs, placing them in nurturing foster homes and helping them to acclimate to a lifestyle outside of public animal shelters or the extreme conditions they may have been living in. Animals in our rescue are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and receive appropriate veterinary care. We serve our adopters and the community by educating the responsibility of pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering. We strive to work with animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and other humane organizations to build a strong network of supporters and volunteers to ensure a better life for these rescued dogs.
