Cause Description:
It is the mission of Catkins Animal Rescue, Inc, to reduce the euthanasia and suffering of homeless pets in Northern Wisconsin. In pursuit of this mission, Catkins not only provides animal adoption services, but also transports pets from low income families to low-cost sterilization clinics, has an active Trap, Neuter, Return program, works with local schools to educate future generations on appropriate animal care. At all times Catkins Animal Rescue, Inc, maintains an active adoption program and provides safe housing, exceptional medical care and appropriate exercise and enrichment for cats, dogs and other domestic pets in need. Catkins takes in abandoned, abused and owner surrender animals and actively works local health departments, social services, police, animal control and the humane societies of neighboring counties to reduce euthanasia and suffering of adoptable pets. Once an animal is in the rescue's care, Catkins provides it with necessary vaccines, deworming, parasite preventatives, sterilization and all dogs are microchipped. Any conditions discovered during a veterinary exam are immediately treated. Catkins does not euthanize animals for space and seeks to place animals into appropriate and loving adoptive homes. Catkins believes that by providing the above services with compassion and attention to quality of care, we will see a no-kill Northwoods in the future.
