Essex County CASA is a court-authorized, non-profit organization that works through professionally trained and supervised community volunteers to promote the welfare of children in Essex County who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. Of more than 900 CASA programs nationally, Essex County CASA is one of the 30 largest. Of the 19 CASA programs in New Jersey we are by far the largest, serving nearly 25% of all the children being helped by CASAs throughout the state.
