Cause Description:
Fur and Feather Animal Assistance is located in a very rural county in western New Mexico. This county, the largest in the state, has no animal control, so unwanted pets are often abandoned to fend for themselves in the wild. In the fall of 2003 we took it upon ourselves to do something to help these homeless pets. Animals are housed at our own homes, kennels, and foster homes. Early in the spring of 2006 we became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We concentrate on rescuing lost and abandoned animals and helping out when people die and leave their pets behind. We also neuter every dog and cat that passes through our hands.
