Greenwood Music Camp

Cause Description:
Greenwood Music Camp was founded in 1933 and is located in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. It holds two sessions each summer for around 50 children at a time: two weeks for ages 9-13 and five weeks for high-school aged boys and girls. Greenwood provides individual lessons, and intensive coaching in chamber, orchestral, and choral music. On Saturdays campers perform in ensembles for fellow campers, friends, alumni, and family. Greenwood especially prides itself on producing devoted, well-trained amateur musicians who continue to make music throughout their lives. The camp is thus non-competitive and encourages individual as well as musical growth.
