Cause Description:
The Pennsylvania Low Income Housing Corporation (PALIHC)is a 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to increasing access to safe, decent and affordable housing for all Pennsylvanians. To fulfill its mission, PALIHC engages in research, policy analysis,information sharing and advocacy activities. PALIHC concentrates its efforts on educating state government about the severity of housing problems in Pennsylvania and informing government officials about best practices for solving these problems. Recently, PALIHC has been involved in the following activities: 1. creating a statewide housing trust fund 2. eradicating urban blight 3. negotiating billions of dollars worth of new bank loans for lower income Pennsylvanians 4. advocating for increased state funding for affordable rental housing 5. advocating for increased state funding for accessible housing for people with physical disabilities 6. helping tenants to prevent being displaced from subsidized rental housing
