Cause Description:
LUV (Lewis Upshur Volunteers) 4 Animals is a not-for-profit volunteer based group whose primary focus is to advocate for the animals of Lewis and Upshur Counties in central West Virginia. Through raising awareness, providing education and with donations and fundraisers to collect funds for sponsorship, our mission is to help our community become "no-kill" and strive to be a part of the solution; by helping with the pet overpopulation problem. The founding members are active animal advocates in their communities and serve as volunteers at the Lewis Upshur Animal Control Facility in Buckhannon, WV. We want to help the adoption/rescue rate and spay/neuter compliance of the animals coming into LUAC and funding permitted we are hoping to help with emergency medical treatments that may arise for some of the shelter babies as well.
