Cause Description:
Grand Futures Prevention Coalition has been operating as a 501c3 for 9 years. We work very closely with the law enforcement agencies and 6 school districts in the NW corner of Colorado. Being a very rural area and having numerous ski resorts, our challenge is even greater to educate the locals with all the visitors importing all the newest and cheapest drugs. Boredom is always a problem leading to alcohol use both by the parents and youth. We offer alternative activities for youth and families as often as possible. We have been operating on Federal and State grants, but with Federal funding cuts and 3 of our grants ending in June of 2000, we will have to cut back on all of our services without financial assistance.
