Cause Description:
A national Jewish organization that strengthens the worldwide Jewish community by empowering people to achieve economic self-sufficiency through technological and vocational education. ORT, the Organization for Educational Resources and Technological Training is largest non-governmental network of vocational education and technological training in the world. Since its founding in 1880 in St. Petersburg, ORT has education more than 3 million people. Currently, the ORT network of 800 schools and programs serves more than 262,000 students in over 60 countries. Women's American ORT is the largest affiliate organization of the World ORT Union and the largest single contriubtor to the global ORT budget. Over 4,000 women in the Suburban Chicago area are members of Women's American ORT. Technology changes, but ORT"s basic principle has remained the same: providing people with skills and education for a lifetime of meaningful and satisfying work.
