SPJST Youth Clubs are based in small communities and large towns across Texas. SPJST Youth Clubs offer young people ages six to high school senior opportunities to practice democracy, participate in social activities, art and talent contests, and summer camps. SPJST Youth Clubs also support community organizations and participate in community service projects through volunteerism. The letters SPJST stand for the Czech acronym which, translated in English, is Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas. SPJST was founded in 1897 by Czechs. SPJST Youth Clubs also preserve Czech heritage through music and dance groups.
