Cause Description:
Fundraiser for Unorthodogs Flyball Club, based in Seattle, WA. Flyball races match two teams of four dogs each, racing side-by-side over a 51-foot-long course. Each dog must run in relay fashion down the jumps, trigger a flyball box, releasing the ball, retrieve the ball, and return over the jumps. The first team to have all 4 dogs finish the course without error wins the heat. While often referred to as “drag racing with dogs”, this sport is very much a team effort requiring incredible training and skill. Our canine athletes are absolutely amazing, and our club has been recognized as one of the best in the sport. The Unorthodogs Flyball Club has had the honor of being selected to represent Team USA at the World Cup of Flyball in May 2020. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase our sport at the international level, but the logistics of getting 10 people, 8 dogs, and all of our gear to Belgium presents unique challenges. We need the support of our community to make this happen! We have a lot of things we will have to pay for to make this trip possible and we really appreciate your support! A few things we know we will need so far include: airline approved crates for all the dogs, vet visits for approved travel and proper papers, airplane fees for dogs in cargo, airplane fees for ourselves, as well as vehicle storage fees at the airport and equipment expenses in Lommel, Belgium.
