Cause Description:
Friends of Marquez (“FOM”) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by parents to plan, fund, and/or operate supplemental educational programs to enrich the curriculum of basic education offered to students at Marquez. FOM funding is keeping class sizes small through hiring additional teachers as well as further reducing class sizes with our distinctive model of 1/2 class size instruction for focused learning. FOM funding is also making possible: our award-winning Digital Edge Technology Program with 1:1 iPads/laptop to student ratio and an on-site IT specialist, a full-time dedicated science teacher, full-time media lounge staffing, classroom instructional aides, as well as numerous other enrichment programs such as art, music, P.E., and the Edible Garden.
