Cause Description:
Many Mansions is a nonprofit affordable housing and service provider. Our mission is ‘to develop and maintain well-managed affordable housing with on-site supportive and life-enriching services for low- income individuals and families of Ventura County, with a special emphasis on residents who are very-low income, formerly homeless, and disabled.’ Founded by concerned and dedicated members of the community, Many Mansions opened its doors in 1979 as a rental assistance organization and grew into an affordable housing provider. Over the past 35 years the organization has continued to support the low-income population of Ventura County, California. Currently, Many Mansions develops, owns, and manages affordable housing rental complexes throughout Ventura County. We operate 14 affordable rental complexes with 500 units of housing for over 1000 individuals, 300 of who are children. All housing is income restricted, usually to very-low (50% area median income) and extremely low-income (30% area median income) households. What distinguishes Many Mansions, though, is our on-site ‘life enriching’ services offered to our residents. In an effort to break the ‘cycle of poverty’ and have residents become productive members of the greater community, we provide a variety of children’s and adult service programs, free of charge. This helps residents to sustain a decent living situation and improve their lives. We provide more than simply housing – we provide hope and homes to our residents.
