Cause Description:
Coonhound Companions is an advocacy group that pledges money to hounds held in shelters in need of vet care above and beyond what the shelter can provide. The money pledged is paid directly to the treating veterinarian once a rescue commits to pull the hound, have treatment, and foster until adopted. We have found that rescues are more inclined to help a hound if there is money to help offset their cost of taking in a hound. Donors, too, seem inclined to help in any dollar amount they can spare, when seeing a committment. Coonhound Companions is not a rescue! Advice and information is passed along to hound lovers, and helpers.
