Cause Description:
Mission: The mission of United States of Boxing is to provide a positive outlet for at-risk and delinquent youth through the sport of amateur boxing. United States of Boxing is determined to get kids off the streets and in the gym. We want to inspire the youth and instill a sense of hope in the future no matter the past. United States of Boxing hopes to empower Philadelphia youth in establishing goals and following through on commitments. We want to encourage our youth that anything is possible if you work hard and put your mind to it. We hope to expand the perspective of young people to make them aware of life’s possibilities. Our mission is to promote education and community- surrounding young people in a caring, inclusive learning environment. Overall Goals: 1. Better the lives of Philadelphia youth through the sport of amateur boxing 2. Provide counseling and mentoring services (programs, speakers, referrals) 3. Educate the youth of Philadelphia (tutoring, GED, college prep, job assistance, health and nutrition, gangs, violence, drugs, and so on) 4. Get our youth involved in the community (through projects and service)
