Cause Description:
The Waukee Spikes baseball club’s primary focus is to develop character and leadership skills in our community’s young boys. We believe that ultimately life is the real game and baseball is merely a tool that facilitates character and leadership development. We are a collection of families in the local neighborhood working together to provide an awesome baseball experience that builds camaraderie, facilitates character building and fosters leadership development. We believe that building leadership skills is fundamental to the future of our community and baseball is a means to that end. We endeavor to help our young boys understand that “winning” is the result of hard work, focus, dedication and most importantly working together. We are not building an elite team of baseball players; we are building an elite team of leaders for our community.
