Cause Description:
H.E.A.R.T is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to caring for homeless pets in our communities through helping with adoptions from shelters, community awareness, and when able, fostering and caring for companion animals until loving homes can be found. Our organization is run by individuals who generously volunteer their time, homes and hearts in order to help. It is our belief that with some temporary assistance, many animals can remain in their current homes instead of being admitted to animal shelters. Whenever possible, emergency placement, food and medical services for pets is available to approved responsible low- income families, senior citizens on fixed incomes and families that are dealing with illnesses where resources are limited. We believe in providing a low cost spay/neuter program for the purpose of reducing unwanted births and unfortunate deaths of animal offspring. Whenever possible, financial assistance is provided to responsible pet owners who wish to spay or neuter their pets but cannot afford to do so. We wish to educate the public on the correct and moral way to care for their animals, including the importance of spaying and neutering pets to help stop the flow of abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in our community. We will exchange information and work with other humane organizations to help locate lost pets and rescue abandoned and abused animals.
