Cause Description:
The Family Bonding Center of the Appalachian Region, Inc. was created to serve our present day families who have been touched by trauma or mental illness. Our mission is to help families heal and become stronger. The Family Bonding Center of the Appalachian Region provides family therapy, psycho-education, outdoor therapeutic activities, group therapy, and collaboration with other service providers. Of central focus is the families built through foster care and special needs adoption. These families have the added stressor of numerous and extensive past traumas suffered by the children that must be addressed before each child can truly bond with her/his new family. The Family Bonding Center of the Appalachian Region, Inc. is dedicated to always seeking new ways to aid families in this healing process. This will be done through research, training, collaboration, and most of all through what we learn from our families.
