Cause Description:
The YMCA Adventure Pioneers is a family program designed for a parent and his or her 3 year old to kindergarten child and their family. All Adventure Pioneer events are open to the whole family. After the child enters 1st grade the child and their father, or other male figure, are eligible to move into the Adventure Guides or Adventure Princesses program for older children. Children whose parents are involved in their lives are more confident and less anxious in unfamiliar settings, are better able to deal with frustration, better develop a sense of independence, are more likely to become compassionate adults, have higher self-esteem, have higher grade-point averages, and are more likely to be sociable. We strive to promote happy and confident children, strong family bonds, enhance the ability to listen to direction, be polite and kind and to have respect for the world around us - all while having a great time and developing lasting friendships along the way!
