Cause Description:
I have always been passionate about this cause because I and my 2 boys are hearing impaired. Harrison is the most severe. I always knew something was wrong with my son. I always knew it was his ears. Moms just know these things. After hundreds if not thousands of dr. appts and dead ends, I finally got my answers. They said by the time he was 10 he could be totally deaf. He stabilized and his hearing hasn't dropped. My son was finally able to hear a fire truck and hear a bird chirp for the first time at age 7. It has been the most challenging thing I as a mom has ever had to endure. He was a tiny boy with such learning disabilities barely able to speak and hold a pencil and now he is a bright, artistic 16 year old Honor roll student. The sad thing isn't that though, the sad thing is no insurance companies provide any types of services or devices to help children like Harrison to succeed in life. We want to change all that. Our mission statement is simple we want to provide what insurance companies can't......To help these children get the hearing devices needed to live a "normal" life.
