Cause Description:
Mainely Rat Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue focusing on the rescue and rehabilitation of rats, mice, guinea pigs and other small companion animals. We do not have a physical shelter, but instead have a large network of foster homes throughout the northeastern United States. All animals are properly cared for while in the custody of MRR, provided with food, shelter, socialization, and medical treatment when needed. We work closely with several area veterinarians, and references can be provided on request. We are a “no-kill” rescue, and only perform humane euthanasia after careful consideration, when it is decided to be in the best interest of the animal. Mainely Rat Rescue is an all volunteer organization and does not receive funding from the state or any government agencies. MRR relies solely on donations and the revenue generated from our online store The Rat Roost and the MRR Food Store to support the animals in our care.
