Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hereford began in 1974 with a mission to make a positive difference in the lives of children through the professionally supported one-to-one match relationship with a caring adult mentor thereby empowering these children to achieve their highest potential. The agency currently serves over 275 children annually. All programs offered at no charge to participants include: Community-based, Bigs in Schools school-based mentoring, MagicMakers for waiting children, and Amachi Texas for children of incarcerated family members. The agency advocates child-safe relationships through our careful screening and training of our volunteers. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hereford is a full affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a member of the Texas State Association of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a United Way member agency.
