Cause Description:
The Sports and Learning Program (SAL) is a non profit organization located in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia whose mission is to fundamentally improve the educational climate of our local community. Primarily, we offer stimulating year-round educational and daycare programs at prices that are purposefully kept within the means of working, and often single-parent households. During the school year, these efforts take the shape of before and after school programs in which children are given a safe and supportive environment in which to complete their homework and to further develop their reading, writing, and math skills. From June through August, SAL runs an annual summer camp program, providing area children of all ages with structured opportunities for both learning and play.
