Girls Write Now Inc. (GWN) is a unique, grassroots nonprofit organization that gives at-risk NYC high school girls with emerging writing talent a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to meet and work one-on-one with diverse, professional women writers to develop their writing skills. Each writer/volunteer serves as a mentor to a single girl for one school year and up to four years. The program links New York City's rich literary community with teens from diverse or underserved neighborhoods and schools that often don't have enough resources to devote to young creative writers.
