Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, is the state’s premier hospital dedicated to caring for children. Our highly specialized critical care services offer treatment for seriously ill and injured children from newborn to adolescence. Children’s Hospital of New Jersey provides the most comprehensive health care programs and services for children of all ages. Our hospital-within-a-hospital combines the most advanced facilities and technology dedicated exclusively to pediatric patients with the philosophy of family centered care. Renowned Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatric Services • Pediatric Critical Care Unit -- New Jersey’s largest state-of-the-art pediatric intensive care unit with in-hospital coverage by board certified pediatric intensivists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. • Children’s Cardiac Center -- among the most active pediatric surgery centers in the nation by volume in affiliation with the cardiac surgery program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Pediatric cardiology services include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, echocardiography and prenatal fetal congenital heart disease diagnosis and management. • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit -- this 46-bed unit provides specialized care for newborns and offers New Jersey’s only Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy for infants in severe respiratory distress. • Pediatric Emergency Services -- delivered exclusively by physicians who are board certified in pediatric emergency medicine. • Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders -- a blend of high-tech and child-friendly care for youngsters with cancer and blood disorders • Pharmacy--fully staffed satellite pharmacy located within the Children’s Hospital. • Mobil Pediatric Van and School-Based Clinics--deliver quality medical care to underserved children.
