At Big Thought, our approach to innovative learning combines core academics with community resources to help develop the capacities our young people need to thrive. Big Thought plays an essential role in innovating education in Dallas. Here’s why we’re so effective: Big Thought provides unprecedented access to learning. Our programs address summer learning loss and the detrimental effect on students, students’ and parents’ needs for afterschool learning and the need for community-centered learning. Young people learn faster, better and more completely in Big Thought programs. Students develop 21st century skills, are engaged more deeply in learning and are more successful on standardized tests than their peers. Big Thought collaborates to leverage a wealth of resources. Big Thought partners with more than 100 nonprofits and coordinates, trains and equips more than 500 professionals to deliver innovative learning programs. Big Thought is one of the most respected education nonprofits in the country. Big Thought and its leaders have been recognized by two different U.S. presidential administrations – Champion of Change and Coming Up Taller Award for innovative programming – at costs that are well below the national average.
