Fonkoze is Haiti’s Alternative Bank for the Organized Poor. It's mission is to build the economic foundations for democracy in Haiti. Fonkoze provides key financial and educational services to Haiti’s rural poor. These services include micro-credit, savings, money transfer, currency exchange and literacy services on topics such as business development and reproductive health. Fonkoze USA, a non-profit institution based in New York, is the American arm of Fonkoze and has 3 main functions: to raise donations and investments, increase public awareness about Haiti and Fonkoze, facilitate and provide technical assistance to Fonkoze as needed.
