Cause Description:
For over twenty five years Kutsinhira Cultural Arts Center has been sharing African music. Responding to the rich musical tradition of the people of Zimbabwe, Kutsinhira has created a local center dedicated to teaching and performing Zimbabwean music. In addition to classes, presentations and state-wide performances, Kutsinhira has been instrumental in sponsoring annual music residencies in Eugene for Zimbabwean master musicians, giving the Eugene community unique insights into the traditional music of southern Africa. The close musical and personal connection between our community and the Zimbabwean people has led to many fundraising efforts to support our organization’s outreach and education efforts both here and in Zimbabwe.
