SER/Jobs for Progress, Inc. of Lake County is a Hispanic community based organization in Lake County, Illinois committed to improving the quality of life for all people seeking social, economic and personal development through education, advocacy, and other development opportunities. SER/Jobs for Progress, Inc. of Lake County was founded through a cooperative effort by the local chapters of the American G.I. Forum and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) in 1974 and has provided an array of services throughout the years. Since the inception of the organization, it has been committed to the enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Lake County by focusing on educational and vocational services, not only for the Hispanic population, but for all persons at a social or economic disadvantage. As the needs of the community have changed, so have the programs of the organization. Currently, SER is providing the following programs: World of Work (WOW)Youth Development Program; English as a Second Language (ESL); HABLA (Healthcare Access By Language Advocacy); Fair Housing Center of Lake County; Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
