Cause Description:
Campbell School is a public school in Arlington, Virginia serving ethnically and economically diverse students and their families from preschool through fifth grade. Our school program provides a multiage, developmentally-based, inclusive and supportive environment for all children and families. Over 70% of our families qualify for free or reduced lunch and speak English as a second language. Many parents work in service positions in and around the Washington, D.C. area and were impacted by the September 11th tragedy. The school provides extensive outreach including English classes for parents, literacy workshops, and needy family support. We are also trying to enhance our arts and science program opportunities through afterschool enrichment classes thus providing more equitable access for our at-risk students.
