The Sickle Cell Disease Research Foundation (SCDRF) is the first and oldest non-profit sickle cell disease agency in the United States. It's a member of the National Voluntary Health Agencies. The SCDRF provides direct services to persons with sickle cell disease and their families, which includes, summer camp for children with sickle cell disease, academic guidance, self help groups. Additionally the SCDRF provides education to the general and medical communities, funding for research and testing for sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait.
