Cause Description:
Resonant Motion, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2012, committed to the great potential that exists when music intersects with meaningful facets of the world outside of pitches and rhythms. RMI believes that music has a profound capacity to inspire people towards personal growth, strength and transformation and to educate people about issues important to their world. Likewise, these things can all provide inspiration and thus aid in creating more meaningful and potent music. In service of these principles, RMI’s imperatives include: 1 ) Creation and presentation of “message music” that embodies this reciprocal influence of art and extra-musical inspiration 2 ) Dialogue and collaboration with like-minded people in other art forms (such as writing, visual art and dance) and other disciplines outside of the fine and performing arts (such as science, philosophy and social work) 3 ) Documentation and dissemination of work exploring and embodying these principles 4 ) Educational activities for musicians and laypeople alike, exploring the transcendent qualities of music both in and of itself and as a point of entry for exploring other topics.
