Cause Description:
We are Cats of Meow York (COMY): A Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor based cat rescue located in Woodhaven, New York! Founded in 2017 and re-branded in 2022 (501c3 pending). One of our key goals is reducing NYC’s community cat population through Trap Neuter Return (TNR) efforts. We also rehabilitate homeless, abandoned, and injured cats. In addition to TNRM, we specialize in neonatal kitten care. We have fixed hundreds of cats and kittens locally in Queens, and in other parts of NYC. Community cats are trapped, neutered/spayed, released then monitored within their colonies after. COMY is run by community members and volunteers who also foster to help provide the opportunity for forever homes for adoptable cats and kittens who are rescued. Another of our goals is introducing, advocating for, and helping to implement legislation that will provide low-cost vetting services to the local community in the near future. Saving small lives in the Big Apple!
