Mission Statement Luck of the Irish Animal Rescue is an IRS registered not-for- profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue, protection, and welfare organization committed to rescuing, providing sanctuary, and rehabbing cats, dogs, goats, horses, rabbits, sheep, and chickens in need. These animals are unwanted, abandoned, neglected, abused, and at high risk of euthanasia. Luck of the Irish Animal Rescue is staffed entirely by volunteers who generously give their time and effort to provide a better life for all the animals who need our help and are in our care. Why We Do This Luck of the Irish Animal Rescue started during the COVID-19 pandemic because people adopted animals in unprecedented numbers. As the owners returned to the office from working remotely at home, their animals were no longer a priority or commitment in their lifestyle. Unfortunately, they no longer had the time for them, and as a result, these animals are now being dropped off at local animal shelters or abandoned at record levels. For that reason, we felt that with the increased number of animals entering the shelters being so overwhelming, we had to take immediate action. The animals need protectors. We are a group of friends who recognize the essential need to build a high-functioning rescue. • Provide transportation and temporary fosters for animals in need to clear them out of high kill shelters. • Provide medical care for animals who need extra care. • Provide the animals who are too old, sick, or disabled a safe place to live out their glory days with love and comfort in our sanctuary. • Write and champion legislation for animal welfare. • Help support our sister rescues with transportation, temporary fosters, and joint ventures. • Help aid internationally in times of crisis. • Provide supplies for our shelter partners, military, and low-income families. • We provide assistance and foster care for active-duty military personnel when on deployment when adopting from us. • Raise awareness through a variety of vehicles to include fundraising, community outreach, education, etc. • Provide high school students opportunities to volunteer and gain experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning, communications, logistics management, and most importantly, the overall care of the animals.
