Founded in 1967, Dégagé Ministries offers a safe, Christian alternative to the streets. Seven days a week, we open our doors and provide services which are created to help people move toward a level of self-sufficiency even as they are in need. Our community is ethnically diverse, and individuals within our community have varied and often acute needs. Nearly 65% live at an income of $15,000 or less, and recent estimations suggest that over 50% of our population suffer some form of mental illness. Over 70% have disabilities of some kind. Mission Statement To reflect the love of Christ to the poor and dispossessed of the Heartside neighborhood by being a safe harbor where friendships are formed and community begins.
