Cause Description:
Judge Baker Children's Center provides direct services and programs to at-risk children and their families. A single goal unites our activities: to help children at risk for emotional and academic failure find pathways to success. We are home to the Manville School for children 5 to 15, the Child-at-Risk Hotline for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and an internationally recognized training program for doctors, psychiatrists and other professionals in child psychiatry. Judge Baker's research staff focuses on issues of critical importance to children, such as trauma intervention, effects of violence and prevention of depression. We collaborate with Children's Hospital, area medical schools and others to provide the highest quality services and resources. Our School Partnerships Project, in place in the Boston Public Schools, is an example of how research from our center yields valuable services to at-risk children and their families.
