As iGive.com celebrates 20 years in business, we are highlighting some of our most successful causes & members. We asked you to share your stories, and here’s one of our most inspiring!
iGive.com has provided the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) with an invaluable source of funding for community services, such as patient conferences and a nationwide branch system. Our members love iGive because the money spent in favorite on-line retailers goes right back into the Association, helping those who need it most.
CMTA Patient & Family conferences change lives by bringing researchers, clinicians and people with this degenerative nerve disease together, to learn, to hope, to relieve the isolation of living with a rare disease. Our dynamic branch leaders work hard to bring CMT specialists to the public and provide much-needed support to all our members.
The CMTA is sincerely grateful to work with iGive, as the extra revenue generated through this partnership has helped thousands of people across the nation. To the folks at iGive.com-we look forward to 20 more years of great non-profit work!
Elizabeth Ouellette Board of Directors
Thanks for the note, Elizabeth!
You can follow CMTA’s progress on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook & more. And don’t forget to tell us the story of YOUR cause on iGive! We’d love to celebrate your success, too.
To start the year off, we celebrate Kimberly L. who’s raised over $1,040 since joining iGive in 2007. Kimberly is currently raising money for RefugeeOne, a Chicago-based resource for refugees fleeing war, terror, and persecution so they may build new lives of safety, dignity, and self-reliance.
We reached out to Kimberly and she shared these thoughts with us:
“Over the years I’ve supported several theatre companies in Chicago with my iGive shopping. I love seeing shows and working on shows and knowing that every little bit helps bring the magic of theatre to life. Recently, however, some friends and I have begun taking up collections of household goods to donate to RefugeeOne and the last time we collected items, I decided to add the cause to iGive. Now when I buy a teapot or dish towels to donate to RefugeeOne, the money I spent on those items also generates a donation via iGive! Win-win!!”
Thanks Kimberly, for being part of 20 years of giving with iGive.com.
Power of the Paw
Power of the Paw, based in Post Falls, ID, will rescue and rehome those animals most at need — at risk of euthanasia at local kill shelters — and does not discriminate because of age, breed or health issues.
iGive member Melody, sent this inspiring note: “I became involved with Power of the Paw (a 501(c)3 foster based rescue) last year. I have donated, volunteered and fostered. We adopted 3 of our fosters …2 who are elderly who need extra care and one silly little Yorkie. We are now fostering a cat that Power of the Paw rescued from the Indian Reservation just 2 days before she gave birth to 7 babies in our home.
“Power of the Paw is partial to those animals who need the most help, and has rescued so many older dogs that have been owner surrendered abandoned. And every single one of them has found a loving home to spend the rest of their life! Being involved with rescue has given purpose and meaning to my life, and I am a much better person because of it.”
You can see available animals here and join Melody in supporting this great Cause with your iGive shopping!

Nancy D. raised $316 for her cause, Save A Dog, Inc!
Save A Dog is a humane society based out of Massachusetts. They take in dogs who would have otherwise been put to sleep, foster them, provide medical care, and help adopt them out. Dogs come to Save a Dog from all over – many of their dogs actually come from rural West Virginia and Tennessee, where there is a dire need for shelters. For their holiday season, Save a Dog got a HUGE treat – through donations and fundraising they just bought the shelter they’ve been renting for eight years!!
The (just bought) Save A Dog, Inc. shelter!
For her efforts, Nancy will receive a $100 gift card to Amazon.com!
Mie A. is our March Super Shopper! She raised $174 for the Nine Lives Foundation in just one month.
Nine Lives Foundation has been sheltering cats since 2003. A no-kill shelter that also spays/neuters stray and feral cats, Nine Lives is dedicated to reducing the over-population of homeless cats in Northern California. They are a true no-kill shelter, and will not euthanize cats for any reason other than a merciful one – if a cat is suffering extreme pain and is unlikely to recover. They provide home and shelter to many cats who otherwise would have no chance.
As a thank you for her efforts, Mie will receive a $150 value product from iGive merchant PaintYourLife.
