A love letter to horses from iGive member: Linda J.
I love horses and have always wanted to have a horse since I was a little girl. I met the volunteers from the Colorado Horse Rescue at the National Western Stock Show many years ago and donated to the cute miniature horse they had at the show. That was all it took; my husband and I attended their annual fund raising events and love to see the horses and hear their success stories.

When I learned about the iGive website that offered an easy way to donate and help the horses it was a perfect match for me. I love shopping online and buying from sites that support my favorite cause. I was sad to see a few of the stores I liked no longer offer the donations and hope to see more websites encourage shoppers to support their favorite cause.
Thank you iGive,
We, too, were inspired by the story of these majestic animals & the humans who so lovingly care for them.
Every member has a cause they love, and every cause has a story. Share yours with us today as we spend this year celebrating 20 Years of Giving.
As iGive.com celebrates 20 years in business, we are highlighting some of our most successful causes & members. We asked you to share your stories, and here’s one of our most inspiring!
iGive.com has provided the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) with an invaluable source of funding for community services, such as patient conferences and a nationwide branch system. Our members love iGive because the money spent in favorite on-line retailers goes right back into the Association, helping those who need it most.
CMTA Patient & Family conferences change lives by bringing researchers, clinicians and people with this degenerative nerve disease together, to learn, to hope, to relieve the isolation of living with a rare disease. Our dynamic branch leaders work hard to bring CMT specialists to the public and provide much-needed support to all our members.
The CMTA is sincerely grateful to work with iGive, as the extra revenue generated through this partnership has helped thousands of people across the nation. To the folks at iGive.com-we look forward to 20 more years of great non-profit work!
February is the month to celebrate love – and we’re pretty sure that North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary LOVES Joanie D. Since joining iGive in 2005, Joanie’s online shopping has benefited NTRS to the tune of just over $1,000! That’s a lot of treats for a lot of floppy-eared friends!
All the rabbits that come into NTRS’s care, are given a chance to live and look forward to being adopted into warm, loving homes with caring people.
HDSA has been an active partner with iGive since 1999. They are the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today and hope for tomorrow for people with Huntington’s disease and their families.
HDSA’s network of chapters, affiliates, HDSA Centers of Excellence, social workers and support groups provides a seamless connection for help, education and outreach to HD families and health care professionals across the United States.
Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure.
In 1993, researchers identified the gene that causes HD. Since then, research has moved quickly towards developing treatments and, ultimately, a cure. HDSA supports the goals of clinical and basic research at leading research facilities globally.
By partnering with iGive, HDSA has earned over $11,000 toward their goals of improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. You can see their recent progress here:
American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue rehabilitates abused and abandoned Black & Tan Coonhounds and places them in “Forever” homes. Since joining iGive.com in 1999, American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue has raised over $5700 towards their mission of keeping animals from being euthanized.
You can check out their website for News to Howl about and a variety of Happy Endings – stories of rescued animals, complete with the cutest pics you can imagine! Leon and Shelby even get featured in the family holiday cards, now!
To start the year off, we celebrate Kimberly L. who’s raised over $1,040 since joining iGive in 2007. Kimberly is currently raising money for RefugeeOne, a Chicago-based resource for refugees fleeing war, terror, and persecution so they may build new lives of safety, dignity, and self-reliance.
We reached out to Kimberly and she shared these thoughts with us:
“Over the years I’ve supported several theatre companies in Chicago with my iGive shopping. I love seeing shows and working on shows and knowing that every little bit helps bring the magic of theatre to life. Recently, however, some friends and I have begun taking up collections of household goods to donate to RefugeeOne and the last time we collected items, I decided to add the cause to iGive. Now when I buy a teapot or dish towels to donate to RefugeeOne, the money I spent on those items also generates a donation via iGive! Win-win!!”
Thanks Kimberly, for being part of 20 years of giving with iGive.com.
Camp Hobé is a special summer camp designed for children with cancer and their siblings, who are often forgotten in the cancer experience. Camp Hobé gives kids the opportunity to participate in camp activities just like healthy children whose families are not affected by cancer. The camp program provides medical and psychosocial supervision to ensure children are safe both mentally and physically during camp.
Twinless Twins is an organization made up of twins who have lost their twin. Members at different stages in their bereavement listen to each other and reach out in the spirit of “healing by helping others.” They focus on healing and sharing twinship with the belief that “once a twin, always a twin.” Hope can be renewed for the future.
Services and offerings are dependent on donations (including $700 through their iGive partnership) and membership dues ($50 annually). Membership details can be found here.
In recognition for her support of Twinless Twins Support Group, Linda will receive a $100 Gift Card from iGive & Bed Bath & Beyond.
Inspired by the words of John Wesley: “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.”
“All are welcome at St. Matthew’s. Everyone is invited to join in worship, education, fellowship and mission opportunities. Come just as you are to share in prayer and praise. We are a vibrant, loving congregation dedicated to making the world a better place and sharing the love of Christ with all of God’s children. No matter who you are, where you came from, or where you are going, there is a place for you here and we hope you will join us!”
As a thank you for her efforts on behalf of her Cause, Patricia will receive a pair of 14k gold earrings from iGive partner, Blue Nile Canada.
