“The shared objective of all The Frostig Center’s unique programs is to enrich and enhance the lives of children with learning disabilities. We were founded in 1951 by Marianne Frostig, Ph.D., who was a pioneer, leader and advocate in education for children with learning disabilities. In fact, she was helping children with learning disabilities before there was even a medical term for this diagnosis.”

iGive.com & Williams Sonoma have teamed up to provide Susan with a $150 Gift Card, as a thank you for all she’s done on behalf of her cause.

Power of the Paw

Power of the Paw, based in Post Falls, ID, will rescue and rehome those animals most at need — at risk of euthanasia at local kill shelters — and does not discriminate because of age, breed or health issues.

iGive member Melody, sent this inspiring note: “I became involved with Power of the Paw (a 501(c)3 foster based rescue) last year. I have donated, volunteered and fostered. We adopted 3 of our fosters …2 who are elderly who need extra care and one silly little Yorkie. We are now fostering a cat that Power of the Paw rescued from the Indian Reservation just 2 days before she gave birth to 7 babies in our home.potp

“Power of the Paw is partial to those animals who need the most help, and has rescued so many older dogs that have been owner surrendered abandoned. And every single one of them has found a loving home to spend the rest of their life! Being involved with rescue has given purpose and meaning to my life, and I am a much better person because of it.”

You can see available animals here and join Melody in supporting this great Cause with your iGive shopping!

PAWS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to that most noble of causes: looking out for our pets. Every animal out there deserves to live in a loving home, and by promoting zero pet population growth, PAWS is working to make that goal a reality.  PAWS has spayed or neutered nearly 400 animals in the past two years, and Ruthe M.’s contributions are helping to keep that number growing.  This is a non-profit that is dedicated to making pet life healthier, happier, and cuddlier – goals that nobody can disagree with.CIMG0017(1) As a thank you for her efforts, Ruthe M. will receive a $100 gift card to Neiman Marcus. The Israel Children’s Cancer Foundation is on the forefront of the fight against cancer.  Cancer is the number one killer of children in Israel; 1 in every 330 children under the age of 20 develops some form of cancer.  “Although Israel is technologically advanced in many areas, the delivery of cancer care … has not kept pace with the country’s progress. There is a compelling need for providing quality medical care in Israel to children…who are afflicted with the dreaded disease of cancer” (ICCF).

Well-to-do patients often go overseas to seek treatment for cancer, however for those who cannot afford the travel or the treatments, options are limited.  ICCF offers “assistance to every child in the State of Israel, regardless of race, creed, or national origin.  The Israel Children’s Cancer Foundation helps fund six major hospitals and medical centers in Israel specifically for the treatment of childhood cancers” (ICCF).

“I would like to thank…ICCF again for your generous and constant support…The ICCF now plays a central role in the Pediatric Oncology effort in Israel, not only in financial support but also in education and advocacy… We hope to maintain this partnership for many years to come.”

-Dr. Michael Weintraub,
Director of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem.

Congratulations to Marie W.!  She earned $377.42 in ONE MONTH for her cause, Spay N Save.

spaynsave

Spay N Save is dedicated to keeping as many homeless pets off the streets as possible through  their affordable spay and neuter clinic.  Its mission is to end the need for euthanasia at animal shelters through preventative surgeries, and since it opened in July 2012, has performed over 24,000 such surgeries.  Spay N Save is a specialized clinic, not a full service vet, which allows them to streamline their sterilization services and offer them at low cost while serving a large population of pets.
