German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County has been active with iGive for 10 years now, and what a story they have!  Over 600 iGive members support this worthy Cause, and they have earned over $7,000 in Donations.  Maria D., iGive member and Executive Director of the rescue, dropped us a note about their mission.

“German Shepherd Rescue of OC is dedicated to rescuing, rehoming, and rehabilitating German Shepherd dogs that have no where else to turn. We are operated by volunteers and we receive no government funding. Currently, we have more than 90 homeless shepherds depending on us for their care and comfort needs. Funds are desperately needed to pay for boarding costs, veterinary care, spaying and neutering, vaccines, microchips and basic supplies. In addition to funds, we always need donations of pet food, dog toys, quality treats, bleach and cleaning supplies. Dogs come to us from desperate situations, such as death of an owner, abandonment by loved ones, severe illness or injury that owners are not prepared to manage, as well as from public shelters throughout So California. Each year, we successfully rehome more than 400 German Shepherds in permanent, loving homes.”

If you live in the area, check out upcoming events to see how you can make a difference in the lives of these dogs, too!

Thanks Maria, for ALL you do on behalf of your Cause!

Power of the Paw

Power of the Paw, based in Post Falls, ID, will rescue and rehome those animals most at need — at risk of euthanasia at local kill shelters — and does not discriminate because of age, breed or health issues.

iGive member Melody, sent this inspiring note: “I became involved with Power of the Paw (a 501(c)3 foster based rescue) last year. I have donated, volunteered and fostered. We adopted 3 of our fosters …2 who are elderly who need extra care and one silly little Yorkie. We are now fostering a cat that Power of the Paw rescued from the Indian Reservation just 2 days before she gave birth to 7 babies in our home.potp

“Power of the Paw is partial to those animals who need the most help, and has rescued so many older dogs that have been owner surrendered abandoned. And every single one of them has found a loving home to spend the rest of their life! Being involved with rescue has given purpose and meaning to my life, and I am a much better person because of it.”

You can see available animals here and join Melody in supporting this great Cause with your iGive shopping!

Bat World was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, accredited organization with both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association.
